Dairy Queen is famous for its blizzard treats. There are already a ton of options on the menu. Some of the offerings include your favorite candies such as Snickers, Oreos, Reese’s, Butterfinger, M&M’s, and Heath. On top of that, there are many other add ons like brownies, chocolate chips, and cookie dough.

Even on a menu with so many options, it is great to know the secret menu. Some items on the secret menu include the Chocolate Blizzard, Chocolate Dip Blizzard, Coffee Blizzard, Banana Split Blizzard, Peanut Butter Blizzard, and the Midnight Truffle Blizzard.

Chocolate Blizzard

One of the most important options to know is the base of the blizzard. The base of the blizzard includes either a chocolate or vanilla soft serve ice cream.

What many people don’t realize is that for any of the blizzards on the menu, you are in charge! For me, I’m a huge chocolate fan, so every blizzard I order starts with a chocolate base. This is an easy hack to take your blizzard game to the next level.

Banana Split Blizzard

One of the most classic ice cream desserts is a banana split. That said, it really feels like you should be able to eat a banana split in multiple forms outside of the traditional version.

The standard banana split already exists on the menu. It is made with vanilla soft serve and banana slices and is covered by strawberry, pineapple, chocolate, and whipped toppings.

Given that the toppings are already on hand, the banana split blizzard is a famous secret menu item that is much easier to eat than the original! Just ask for strawberries, pineapple, and bananas into a vanilla base blizzard.

Chocolate Dip Blizzard

Another classic menu item is the chocolate dipped cone. This cone is vanilla soft serve dipped into chocolate that then hardens and creates a nice shell on the outside of your cone.

To pull some of the hardened chocolate goodness into your blizzard, you simply need to ask for pieces of the chocolate coating into your blizzard. And remember to ask for a chocolate base blizzard to take it to the next level!

Coffee Blizzard

Do you love a good coffee and ice cream combo? What about coffee, and chocolate and ice cream? Any and all of the above can be yours in this secret blizzard combo. It really is pretty simple. Just ask for some coffee syrup be added to any blizzard of your choice.

Iced Hot Chocolate

This next one goes by a few names that may be familiar to your local DQ worker. Some names it goes by are Iced Hot Chocolate and Frozen Hot chocolate.

To get this chocolate goodness, simply ask for some ice cubes to be mixed into a hot chocolate. Of course, don’t forget to get some nice looking adds on top like whipped cream or a little extra chocolate syrup. If it is still hot outside, this may be the hot chocolate you couldn’t wait any longer for.

Midnight Truffle Blizzard

Sometimes secret menu items were not a secret. For the truffle blizzard, this has seen its way into stores from time to time. The Midnight truffle blizzard includes dark cocoa fudge and truffle pieces. The original version was built around vanilla soft serve, but we believe this is a blizzard that definitely deserves a chocolate base.

DIY Blizzard

My family’s trip to Dairy Queen usually starts with everyone staring at the Blizzard board for about 5-10 minutes. Then after a few minutes we approach the counter and start asking, “What is in this blizzard”

We almost find the perfect blizzard for the day except it is missing that one ingredient. Many times we find that to be cookie dough or brownie chunks. That is when we ask to add them to add the extra ingredient in.

Always know that it is an option to deviate wherever you want on for the blizzards. Your perfect blizzard is waiting for you to ask for it.

DIY Sundae

We don’t spend as much time on sundae’s because frankly they are the stepchild compared to the Blizzard.

That said, just know that you can also customize a sundae. The standard sundaes include hot fudge, strawberry, chocolate, caramel, peanut butter, pineapple, summer berry and midnight fudge. This is usually based on the type of sauce added to the top.

Feel free to request something crunchy added on top. Maybe try peanuts with your peanut butter sauce or chocolate chips with hot fudge.
