Five Guys is another fast casual player in the burger wars. Five Guys was founded on fresh beef in its stores and is famous for burgers, fries, and shakes. Today, it has expanded across the country to almost 1,500 locations so this is a spot where you definitely need to see past the regular menu.
Digging into the secret menu at Five Guys, you will find a Patty Melt, Cheese Fries, Well Done Fries, a Double Cheeseburger, The Presidential Burger, Animal Style, a Burger Bowl, the Artery Annihilator, the HB Slammer, a Chicago Style Hot Dog, Steak Frites, and Custom Milkshakes galore.
Patty Melt
You will find the Patty Melt on the menu of many fast food restaurants, but for some reason, it didn’t make its way on to the Five Guys menu.
We love Patty Melts for their Texas toast (or just toast) The flavor just seems to come through so much greater with toast instead of a bun. Ask for one of these, and they will surely know what you are talking about.
Cheese Fries
Fries are good, but cheese fries are what you need sometimes. Simply ask for cheese to be added to your fries. Many patrons have even been known to get this as a free hack. Regardless of the cost, getting cheese fries is the right choice, especially for a late night craving.
Well done fries
French fries done wrong can be one of the worst menu items. French fries done right can be one of the best things on a menu. At five guys, the fries are plentiful and really good, but feel free to make them even better.
If crispy fries are your thing, feel free to ask for them well done. The staff will leave them in the fryer a little longer for you.

Presidential Burger
In-n-Out was started in DC, the home of the President. That said, President Obama used to frequent Five Guys and ordered the same exact burger every time. His burger was topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno peppers, and mustard. Feeling Presidential? Give this burger a try. Do it for your country!
Animal Style (aka In-n-Out)
On the West Coast, In-n-Out is famous for their secret menu style of Animal Style. If you live on the East Coast, you aren’t likely to ever see one of these establishments, but you can get the same result at Five Guys.
When you ask for Animal Style, you will get extra cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles. You will also need to replicate the sauce which is a mix of mayo, ketchup, and relish mixed together.
The Burger Bowl (Bacon Cheeseburger Bowl)
Are you on a no carb kick or diet? If so, why not head to a restaurant where you can pass on the frozen meat and carb heavy buns?
Feel free to ask for the burger bowl. This leaves the bun off and will come with all the toppings of your desire on the side. Mix them up for a burger “salad” of sorts.
Artery Annihilator
There is always an item on a secret menu that makes you question your sanity and fear for your health. At Five Guys, this is the Artery Annihilator.
If you are a gluten for punishment but also love great flavor, this may be the burger for you. This is a pretty simple combo item of a bacon cheeseburger with a half a hot dog on top.
HB Slammer
Reddit is famous for starting trends, and why should food be any different?
The HB Slammer is a bacon cheeseburger with mayo, grilled onions, extra bacon, grilled mushrooms, grilled jalapenos, hot sauce and A1 (yes, steak sauce).
Chicago Style Hot Dog
Chicago restaurants are famous for hot dogs, but this item isn’t found much on other menus or restaurants.
At five guys, you are in luck with a hot dog on the menu, so feel free to put yourself straight into the windy city. Chicago style is essentially adding tomatoes, pickles, relish, mustard, hot sauce and green peppers on top of your all beef dog.
Steak Frites
Just like the HB Slammer, you should take advantage of A1 sauce if you are a fan. To get the steak frites, get a burger patty with fries and A1 sauce. You will definitely get the feeling that you have transported somewhere else.
Custom Milkshakes
If you are eating a burger and fries, the best way to wash it down is with a milkshake.
